Description
I am an avid modeler and history buff who has recently taken up 3D printing, so now I design my own accessories and modifications to the kits and dioramas that I build! This listing is for a pair of motors (engines if you prefer) for the German A7V tank kit I am building. My kit was the Meng TS-017, which has an interior, but nothing to go in the engine bay. While I fit them to the Meng kit, they would probably be appropriate for any 1/35 scale A7V kit out there with an engine compartment or as an item in a WWI diorama or model. The A7V used two
Daimler
4 Cylinder 200 HP motors and I modeled my design on the few historical photos and technical specs out there (and I mean very few) so I can't
guaranty
accuracy, but I did the best I could with what is available
. As pictured in the first few photos, they do not have fan belts, I made mine out of photo etched sprue that I cut and shaped to fit, then glued in place with CA cement, but you can probably use styrene if desired. My color scheme for painting was based off of the type of material the part was made from as well as the interior color schemes of the Meng Kit, so it may not be accurate either, but I liked it. ; ]
Note Regarding 1/48th and 1/72nd scale offerings,
Please see photos of the 1/48th and 1/72nd scale prints, they do not have quite the same level of detail as they are significantly smaller. And the 1/72nd versions will ship with the supports still attached as they are very fragile in this tiny scale.
The item you receive will be unpainted and in it's native resin, it will need to be cleaned up like any model as they will probably have support marks. I include my painted photos as they bring out the detail in the print that is hard to notice when looking at the resin photos.
If you desire a different scale / size it is very easy for me to modify them and print what you need, so just send me a message via eBay.
Note regarding resin color, in an attempt to keep my cost and price as low as possible I don’t always use grey resin. Sometimes it is not available due to supply and demand, and sometimes it is significantly higher priced so that I would need to adjust my costs up and down, and I really don’t want to have to be doing that, so from time to time items are printed in a different color, or a translucent resin. Tracks are almost always printed in a translucent resin because it makes it easier to see when the pin is fully inserted. However, even the most clear of resins accepts primer very well, and as soon as your first coat is on the item the details will become visible and the item will no longer be transparent.
Also, sometimes when I remove the items from the build plate, or separate prints from each other it causes the mounting plate to break. If I ever see that the item itself is damaged then I chuck it into the seconds bin and give them away for free, but if the item itself is still in good condition just the mounting plate has been damaged then I still send them. If I didn’t do this then I would have to increase my cost by at least 50% to account for all the waste.
If you have any questions about any of my information or prints please let me know. If you really want your print in one color or another for some reason feel free to message me and see what I have available.
I am not promising that these are exactly to a scale with a specific item you may have in the garage, or that every detail is in the exactly correct spot, so please look at the photos for actual examples of objects as they are. If you want extreme attention to detail then you probably ought to buy the .00 kits and save us both a head ache. But if you are a fine scale modeler or history enthusiast and you want to support a fellow hobbyist, then these items will save you money and help me keep my wife happy! ; ]
I have designed several items and tools, and continue to build new ones as I work on new projects, so check back in as I list the rest of them too
. If you are interested in pre primed or painted options let me know and we can see if we can
commission
something.
Thanks for looking, have a great day!
